WHERE TO BEGIN? That is the million dollar question. Well, it’s quite simple, really. Sit down, look closely at what you want and go get it. Easier said than done, right! So, instead of looking at the whole picture, because that scares the shit out of me, I’ve taken a different approach. Do one thing at a time. And, don’t do it like it’s a forever deal, just try it out. it’s like trying out a new product for a month or so, and if it doesn’t fit return it. I’ve realized this can be applied to my life, just the same.
For instance, whenever I start to exercise my mind immediately races to cover everyday of my life. Then I start to freak out. my mind wanders to when I go traveling and how my exercise regime will be all messed up because I won’t be able to get away and run in the morning, or what if I stay up late, how will I get up in time for my run. Not only do I take away from my actual exercise time that I’m in the process of doing, but now I’ve already come up with a 101 reasons why I shouldn’t bother with my exercise program. And what do you know, the following day, I’m back to my old routine of coming up with a million excuses why today isn’t a good day to go for a run, and before I know it, I’m back to not exercising.
So, I’ve simplified my life. I refuse to look too far into the future, because, we all know we can never predict the future and what it holds, so I simply need to take it one day at a time.
However, you need a little more concreteness and a disciplined plan. otherwise it’s just another soother for the mind and soul, while you tell yourself, tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow. Before, sitting down and writing all this info down and promising myself to get my life on the right track, as a gift for my 35th birthday, I did quite a lot of research by reading tons of self-help books, websites, blogs, and attending workshops. They were fantastic, and very inspiring—for the moment. Then by the time you’re finished reading a book, or listening to someone tell you about how you should do it, you’ve realized that you’ve just wasted more time by hearing other people’s success stories, and you’re still at the same place as you were before you took that book or paid a bundle for the seminar.
So with all my research, and being a personal trainer/nutritionist all these years, I’ve come up with a super easy, fun way to get things done!!!!!!!!
